Demonstration of decentralised thermal sewage sludge utilisation in an innovative individual treatment plant for efficient energy and heat recovery on site.
The pilot plant shall operate energy autarkic, meeting the given parameters concerning throughput (280 kg DR/hr), burnout (a
3 % TOC) and emission limits according to the strict 17th Federal Emission Control Law.
Reduction of the sewage sludge disposal volume to approx. 1/8 of the dewatered sludge volume.
Reduction of transport emissions
Provide a high quality raw material for phosphorus recovery
Evaluation of cost reduction if additional municipal residue material is used, such as screenings, landscape conservation material or composting plant residues
Conception of standardised plant components for easy transferability of the process and integration into wastewater treatment
plants all over Europe (50,000 – 200,000 PE)
Provide an eco-friendly disposal way, which is reliable in the long term, with calculable disposal costs for municipalities and
waste industry.
